The Story
In 1972, eccentric genius Dr. Amandus Malone founded the Malone Biological Research institute (MBR). His work pioneered several medical advancements and he was well on his way to earning his place in scientific history. Men feared him, women loved him, and everyone thought he was a little peculiar. However, just before his keynote speech at the Global Assembly of Scientific Persons, Malone – and all of his work – suddenly disappeared.
Years later, rumors began circulating that a new island had appeared in the middle of the Pacific. Explorers were met by Dr. Malone on the beach and informed they had landed on St. Fredrick Isle. Then they were promptly asked to leave. Based on the seemingly-impossible diversity of the biomes on the island, scientists concluded that Malone built it from scratch for his own researching purposes. The only human inhabitants of the island were Dr. Malone and 6 carefully-selected lab assistants. You are one of those lab assistants.
Everything in the laboratory was top secret and carefully guarded, even your lightly-chewed #2 pencil. Dr. Malone worked tirelessly and expected his long-suffering, underpaid lab assistants to do the same. Still, you were one of only 7 people working on a project that would completely change the world — It was a dream come true. On the eve of your 3rd year in Dr. Malone’s employ, St. Fredrick Isle was shaken by a 6.7 magnitude earthquake. The power to the MBR laboratory was lost, and mayhem ensued. Every one of Dr. Malone’s highly-dangerous biological experiments escaped their containment and scattered across the island. In a matter of weeks, they’ll spread across the world. Not only will Dr. Malone’s work be made known to the public, but the world will be in immediate danger!
You and your fellow assistants have been tasked with braving the perilous elements of this island in order to capture and return Dr. Malone’s experiments… dead or alive. The reward? Whoever returns with the most (or most valuable) animals will be awarded the prestigious Malone Research Fellowship, along with a hefty sum of Dr. Malone’s multi-million dollar estate. This is the chance of a lifetime, and it may indeed cost you your life.
Which one of you will track down and capture the most of Dr. Malone’s hybrid animals? Which one will survive the sabotages, danger, and risky side-quests that fill the island?
